Why we review content

Bariatric surgery is a serious medical decision. Our educational content is reviewed so that it stays accurate, balanced, and aligned with authoritative sources — and clearly separated from marketing.

What review covers

  • Factual accuracy against sources such as ASMBS, NIH, WHO, and FDA where relevant.
  • Balanced presentation of benefits, risks, and alternatives.
  • Clear labeling of provider-reported information versus independent facts.
  • A last-reviewed date and reviewer byline on educational pages.

Our reviewer

Each educational page carries a reviewer byline with the reviewer's name, specialty, the content reviewed, and the last-reviewed date. You can see the current reviewer and credentials in the review panel below, which appears on our educational pages.
